Exploring Doctoral Supervisory Relationships in the Moroccan University: Roles, Expectations and Communication

Supervisory relationships have always been considered a cornerstone in the field of doctoral research. A well- built relationship between supervisors and their supervisees may lead to very positive outcomes, namely the completion of theses in due time. However, such a tie can undergo misunderstandings or even unhappy endings. Such unexpected mishaps do not stem from a vacuum; they are rather concrete and logical consequences of not only lack of communication between supervisors and their supervisees, but also due to the misexpectations from both parties.
