The objective of this research, of a qualitative nature, is to understand and explore students' perceptions of their engagement and learning experience in language learning platforms in a university context, particularly the Rosetta Stone platform. To do this, we conducted semi-directed interviews with 10 students from Mohamed Premier-Oujda University, whose activity on the platform shows high engagement, with a view to exploring the factors that may influence their engagement.
The thematic analysis of the semi-directed interviews, through a general inductive approach, shows that the students surveyed have positive perceptions of their language learning experience in hybrid mode despite certain challenges and difficulties encountered. In addition, the research results also make it possible to identify several factors influencing student engagement, including the lack of direct interaction with peers and teachers. Students also emphasize the importance of teacher support in hybrid learning environments for more interactive use of the platform and rapid acquisition of skills.
