Undoubtedly, a diversity-enhanced atmosphere is essential, not only in promoting international students’ academic and cultural experiences in the host setting, but also in promoting awareness on diversity in universities. This paper aims at investigating the perceptions of diversity among international students in Moroccan higher education. Recognizing diversity as a multifaceted concept encompassing cultural, ethnic, and academic dimensions, this paper seeks to unvei the intricate relationship between international students' experiences within the academic environment, their academic performance, and their overall experience as foreigners. Using a survey-based (quantitative) approach, the study gathers data from a diverse sample of international African students, pursuing different fields of studies as well as originating from various countries and cultural backgrounds.
This research contributes to the evolving debates on the internationalization of education in settings considered ‘new destinations’ by offering an understanding of international students' perceptions of diversity and inclusion
